Adult Education: Introduction to Judaism

This program is designed to give students (Jews and non-Jews alike) an opportunity to learn about the history, culture and religious practices of Judaism. Taught by Rabbi Joshua Hammerman and Rabbi Jay TelRav, topics include an overview of the history of the Jewish people, how and why Jews pray, a review of lifecycle events and holidays, an explanation of the written and oral law, basic Jewish beliefs, the Holocaust and Israel.
Classes meet for 21 weeks on Wednesdays from 7 pm to 8:30 pm. There is a fee of $180, which includes all materials. Attendees may bring their significant other without charge.
